Call for Support

We can't thank people enough for the huge response so far. There are still lots of copies of the chapbooks, which means that the two specials we're running are still valid, but people looking for back issues may be out of luck.

So we've created a series of shirts via Zazzle (including the 'Tempest' shirt, so people can get their hands on their own shirt). You can check out the store here. This way, you can still help, and you get a sweet shirt out of the deal.

There are some people who were looking to just donate, and here's a link to do that.

ev 19 cover

Issue #19 and we're moving back to single issues. A striking cover from Thom Davidsohn, and similarly striking stories from writers such as Mark Teppo, KJ Bishop, Ken Scholes, and more!

issue 17/18 cover

Issue #17/18, another jam-packed double issue! Great stories and poetry from people like Richard Bowes, KJ Bishop, Chris Roberson, Marly Youmans, Jay Lake, and so many more! Another great cover from Thom Davidsohn. Copies are available at Night Shade Books.

electric velocipede 15_16

Issue #15/16, our first double issue, 164 pages and almost 100,000 words of content! Featuring an amazing color wraparound cover from T. Davidsohn. There's also fiction from people like Patrick O'Leary, Patricia Russo, William Shunn, Rachel Swirsky, and more. Lucius Shepard takes our Blindfold Taste Test this issue. The issue debuted at the 2008 World Fantasy Convention in Calgary, Oct 30 - Nov 2, 2008. Copies can be purchased at Night Shade Books.

electric velocipede 14

Issue #14 debuted at Wiscon 32, May 22 - 26, 2008. Wiscon, if you didn't know, is the world's largest feminist science fiction convention. So I thought it only right to have an issue featuring all female contributors that could debut at the convention. The cover is by Lisa Snellings-Clark (see it larger here. Contributors are Lida Broadhurst, Karen Joy Fowler (who braved our Blindfold Taste Test), Erin Hoffman, Elissa Malcohn, Lisa Mantchev, Tracie McBride, Sandra McDonald, Melissa Mead, Penelope O’Shea, Jennifer Pelland, Sara Saab, Michelle Scott, Sonya Taaffe, Leslie Claire Walker, D. E. Wasden, Leslie What, Sharon E. Woods, and Erzebet YellowBoy. This is an extra-big issue at 100 pages! Copies will be available soon at Night Shade Books.

Electric Velocipede issue

First things first. Issue #13 has a cover from Steve Wilson in the style of his My Elves Are Different webcomic. Kind of reminds me of an old Victorian broadsheet, eh? Great fiction and poetry from KJ Bishop, Marly Youmans, Claude Lalumière, Rachel Swirsky, Marie Brennan, Jennifer Rachel Baumer, Corey Brown, Mikal Trimm, Jon Hansen, Philip J. Lees, Damien G. Walter, and Richard Howard's first publication. A nice blend of the ridiculous and the fantastic. We're also adding a new nonfiction column named "Sampling the Aspic." The column will be about food and cooking (something I love), and in addition to some recipes and food writing, will feature a short question-and-answer section. This month, Kage Baker takes our blindfold taste test.

Electric Velocipede issue 12

Thom Davidsohn finally convinced me to put a robot on the cover with issue #12, and I'm sure glad he did. Stories from Bruce Holland Rogers, Jay Caselber, Brendan Connell, with poems by Bruce Boston and Megan Messinger, as well as much, much more!
